As I have stated in Titles of threads/confusion, I interpret the repeated, deliberate use of alternate usernames which can be easily confused with those of an existing member(s) to break one of the rules of this board: that of mutual respect for fellow posters. (I use "deliberate" for actions continuing to be taken after the poster has been informed that those actions are not acceptable within the stated rules of this board.) I find this an especially important interpretation, considering the high percentage of members who do not speak English as a first language.
It seems, however, that simple clarification and request to follow this rule is insufficient. I must, therefore, consider stronger means of enforcing this rule, but I have been known to jump too far or in the wrong direction before.
Thus I ask:
1. Do members here see the deliberate and continuing use of misleading alternate usernames as being a problem?
2. I have no wish to discourage the voice of any one person. What do members feel would be an appropriate form of enforcement which would resolve the issue, without taking away that person's voice altogether? The current proposal I am considering is to ban after warning (not delete) the specific individual names found misleading by more than 1 or 2 persons.
The irony in this being that while what is said often needs to be heard, the determination to use misleading usernames increasingly makes it less so ...
