EZBoard is a privately run, for-profit corporation. Yet I've noticed that many EZBoard users feel that these forums are havens of "free speech." Do you believe that this space ought to be considered a public forum where anyone's right to speak is protected? If not, do you believe that EZBoard as a technology should be considered a public forum where anyone can create a new board, but not necessarily post in someone else's board? (e.g. can a private individual ban a Nazi from her board; can EZBoard ban Nazis in general from any board?)
If the answers are again "no" and "no," do you believe that it is important or even necessary for the government (let's say American for now) to create public forums to preserve the centrality of free speech to our democracy? (Is your answer based on your belief of the value / importance of online speech vs. face-to-face speech?).
